Co-Curricular Activities


In order to encourage sports persons, the college is offering concession in semester fees throughout their course of studies. College is having the facilities for variety of games including indoor games. A spacious gymnasium with all implements are available both for girls and boys. Mr.L.Dhayalan of second ECS is winning almost all the marathon races conducted by various organizations of the City. No student will be exempted from the course of physical training except such students as may have been declared by the medical officer of the college to be unfit to undergo a course of physical training. First year U.G and P.G students have to undergo medical inspections such as eye screening tests, dental check up, blood grouping etc without fail.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a programme organized by the ministry of education and youth services of the government of India to offer opportunities and training in service to the community and the nation for students with an aptitude. It is intended to involve the college students in a variety of social service and developmental activities concomitantly with the normal academic programme. The motto of this scheme is "Education through Community Service". Students of the first and second year degree classes are eligible for admission. A total of 300 students (3 units) will be enrolled in our college units which will be under the control of three programme offers.

Madam Gita Blood Donors Club

Voluntary blood donation project was initiated during the year 2003. Its aim is to donate blood to the patients in an emergency situation. Every year it conducts blood donation camp and blood grouping camp to the students. Nearly 800 hundred volunteers are available in our college. They donate blood and save life.

Youth Red Cross (YRC)

This has been designed to involve young people as much as possible in the movement and its activities not only as workers and also as beneficiaries, but as partners in management. The programme focuses on the following areas:
->Promote life and health through training and education on safety, primary health care and healthy living
->Encourage community service through training and education
->Promote internaional friendship with activities that cultivate a humanitarian spirit

Fine Arts

The fine arts club of our college is a renowned one. Dancing is the strong forte of our students. Wherever they go, they will dance and come back with trophy. The "thappattam band" is also famous among local colleges. Students are also encouraged to participate in all inter collegiate competitions.
